Detailed Synopsis
"Norma Jeane's Wishes in Time" is an historical fantasy. The novel consists of four sequel stories (or "Parts").
Part One: "Norma Jeane's First Wish"
It is now almost 40 years after the collapse of the United States of America, which is now under Soviet Occupation and all major cities in the Former United States are POW Camps. A prisoner, known only by his Designation Number and held captive since shortly after his birth, escapes the destruction of human civilization brought on by World War III by traveling into the past in his newly constructed Time Bubble in an attempt to change his own time by saving John Fitzgerald Kennedy from his Assassination. Landing by accident in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada in 1960, over three years before Kennedy's assassination is to occur, he stumbles upon the filming of the movie, "the Misfits" taking place at that time. Knowing Marilyn Monroe, the film's Leading Lady, was a friend of Kennedy's, he attempts to enlist her help in trying to save Kennedy from his future demise. Believing the Time Traveler to be insane and actually there to kill Jack Kennedy, who is not yet the President, Monroe attempts to stop the stranger who appeared on the set by walking out of the desert. She replaces the Time Traveler's Designation Number by naming him "Adam".
Part Two: "Norma Jeane's Second Wish"
A massive power overload deep within the Five-Mile Underground, Time Monitoring Complex located in New San Francisco in the year 2380, causes a time disruption to occur near the end of World War II in Berlin, Germany. Adam must once again travel into the past to try to change history or the Nazis will win World War II. He enlists Marilyn's help, taking her with him along the trip by stopping to rescue her from a rapidly changing 1962, from the corruption started in 1945. But, it seems, Marilyn did not listen to his warnings of her taking too many sleeping pills, during their first adventure through time, and now her time (as well as the world's time) is quickly running out when he locates her in May of 1962.
Part Three: "Norma Jeane's Third Wish"
Norma Jeane has finally overcome her long-time addiction to sleeping pills. As a reward, she is given the opportunity to meet and visit her life-long idol, Abraham Lincoln. After meeting Lincoln in person, she willingly tries and succeeds at altering the past by saving his life. Also, she innocently tells only her first name, Marilyn, to her then unknown great-grandmother, then a child of eight, and helps the lost child find her way at the Washington Train Station, in April of 1865. Upon returning to her present time, she learns there are many, many unforeseen, very unpleasant consequences to her acts of kindness in the 19th Century. Now, she must return to the past to stop her earlier self from stopping the Lincoln Assassination and somehow undo the damage caused by mentioning her first name to her future great-grandmother, before the changes in these time events catch up with her and eliminate her altogether by causing her to slowly cease to exist from her own Family Line and the Universe.
Part Four: "Norma Jeane's Fourth Wish"
A psychopathic killer from the far distant future is banished 1000 years into the Past, into 1888 London, England for his crimes against humanity. Discovering the Time Bubble, abandoned by Marilyn 23 years earlier while she was saving Lincoln from being assassinated, he uses the long-hidden Time Bubble to travel back to the year 1865 to kidnap Sam, Norma Jeane and Jennie and bring them forward in time to March of 2040 in his attempt to create an exact clone of Norma Jeane, who will do his bidding in his Master Plan to take over the Earth. Norma Jeane sees clues and hints as to what she was able to accomplish with her second chance at life, but with this cold-blooded, mass-murderer now stalking her every move, will her second chance for a new life be extinguished forever?
